The Pakistan Bar Council's Directorate of Legal Education (DLE) and the Legal Aid Society (LAS) have formally partnered to raise the bar for legal education nationwide.
The Pakistan Bar Council's (PBC) Committee Hall, housed in the Supreme Court Building, hosted the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the other day.
To carry out the Supreme Court's orders to raise the caliber and standard of legal education in Pakistan, the DLE, an independent organization based at the PBC, was founded.
Under the direction of its Director, Barrister Usama Malik, the DLE concentrates on improving curricula, training teachers, conducting legal research, and regulating legal education establishments to guarantee compliance with established norms.
A news release states that this partnership between LAS and DLE will launch strategic initiatives, such as curriculum creation, specialized training programs for teachers, and the encouragement of legal research.
It said that by utilizing their combined experience, both groups hope to develop a pool of legal experts capable of addressing today's issues and defending Pakistan's legal system.
Gulzar Ahmad, the secretary of the Pakistan Bar Council, and Haroon Rashid, a member and former vice chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, were among the important members of the legal community who attended the signing event.
