The British Council in Pakistan organized an innovative event on Thursday with the goal of exploring the future of English language teaching (ELT). Thought leaders, educators, and important stakeholders convened for the event to have conversations about the importance of English as a medium of instruction, the necessity of teacher preparation, and the creation of creative teaching strategies.

The topic of discussion at the seminar was the fundamentals of continuing professional development (CPD) for English language teachers in public and private schools.

Its goal was to improve English language proficiency while highlighting the value of peer learning. LUMS, Taleemabad, and other prestigious institutions and organizations were among the attendees who engaged themselves in walk-in workshops aimed at embracing the future of English language teaching. These workshops gave teachers the skills they needed to create safer, more welcoming ELT classrooms, increase awareness of climate change, and seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and technology.

"We're investing in Pakistan's education system so that children in public schools and students at universities can achieve their ambitions," stated James Hampson, Country Director of the British Council in Pakistan. The symposium on the pivotal role of English today will help educators, policymakers, and students achieve better results and create a successful future.

The potential integration of technology, such as AI, to enhance the effectiveness of both teaching and learning methods. stated Talha Chishti, Head of English programs at the British Council in Pakistan. The objective is to suggest long-term policy solutions for enhanced educational results.

The occasion brought together stakeholders from government agencies, teachers' development centers, academics, research, and education to revolutionize Pakistan's ELT landscape.

Thought-provoking conversations exposed obstacles and possibilities, sparking a vibrant exchange of ideas aimed at advancing and developing ELT practices across the nation.

The British Council in Pakistan hopes that this initiative will continue to have a positive influence and that English language education in the area will have a better future.
