Pakistan has gained international prominence because of the National University of Technology (NUTECH), which ranked highly in the World University Rankings for Innovation 2025.

Fifteen prestigious Pakistani universities were included in the rankings, out of 1,325 universities globally. In the field of "Technology Development and Application," NUTECH distinguished themselves by taking first place.

A remarkable 218th place among the top 400 universities in the globe was also attained by the university.

Furthermore, NUTECH came in at number 43 in Infrastructure/Technologies and 31st in Industrial Application.

A global university ranking system called World's Universities with Real Impact, or WURI, aims to assess and honor universities not just on the basis of traditional academic measures but also on their contributions to society, innovation, and real-world impact.

WURI emphasizes how colleges solve social concerns, encourage entrepreneurship, promote ethical principles, and develop workable solutions for the real world, in contrast to traditional rankings that place more emphasis on research production and academic renown.

Social responsibility, innovation, industry applicability, student mobility, crisis management, and more are frequently included in WURI rankings.

Kashmir Day: SMIU Shows Solidarity

Sindh Madressatul Islam University organized a walk to express solidarity with the Kashmiris on the occasion of Kashmir Exploitation Day.

The walk was led by Sindh Madressatul Islam University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sehrai.

According to the released statement, the walk was attended by deans, chairpersons, faculty, officers, other employees, and students of various academic departments.

Earlier, a program was organized at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium of the university to express solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemn the abrogation of Article 370 by India, which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sehrai, where he said in his address that India’s usurping occupation of Kashmir is a murder of humanity and history.

He said that the Kashmir issue is the oldest issue of the Muslim Ummah; the United Nations has passed eight resolutions on this issue since 1948, but India has forcibly occupied Kashmir and is committing serious human rights violations in the valley by martyring innocent Kashmiris, including women, children, and the elderly.

He said that Pakistan is supporting the right of Kashmiris to self-determination; similarly, other Muslim countries should also support it. He said that it is the failure of the United Nations, which has failed to get India to implement its resolutions.

On this occasion, Dean of Sindh Madrasatul Islam University Dr. Jamshed Adil Haliputo said that we demand the right of Kashmiris to self-determination; it is our duty to support the Kashmiris of occupied Kashmir.
