The government has launched the first-ever comprehensive internship program in Punjab for 1,000 veterinary and paraveterinary graduates. Approximately Rs. 600 million has been set aside for this historic project.

Under the Chief Minister's Internship Program, paravets and livestock assistants will get Rs. 40,000 per month during their internship, while veterinary graduates would receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 60,000.

Veterinary graduates with a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-approved DVM degree are eligible to apply in their local districts. Young doctors who have finished the two-year LAD diploma are also qualified to apply.

Livestock farmers will have access to on-site animal care and consultancy services thanks to this internship program, said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

She underlined that the program's goals are to modernize and advance Punjab's cattle industry while simultaneously giving young professionals financial support and practical experience.

Maryam Nawaz went on to say that the administration wants to make the most of Punjab's cattle industry. The province may greatly boost its foreign exchange reserves by producing more meat and milk. "We want Punjab to become a center for the growth of dairy and cattle. We will continue to support livestock farmers in the future, just as we do today,” she said.

Importantly, quotas have been set for lab assistants, AI technicians, and veterinary assistants in each of Punjab's 36 districts.
