The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has introduced the licensing system for the first time at its regional office in Lahore, Punjab, to help medical and dental graduates and practitioners.
An official statement states that the goal of the digital project is to make it easier and faster for graduates, as well as medical and dental professionals and specialists, to register, allowing them to do so in a secure and timely manner. Because the system removes conventional barriers and drastically cuts down on processing times, it encourages more transparency, efficiency, and accessibility.
One of the most significant advantages is that it saves doctors and dentists time and effort by removing the need to go from Lahore to the Islamabad headquarters in order to get their questions answered.
Additionally, the doctors at the regional center who are prepared to assist with the filing procedure will help doctors who are having trouble completing the online portal application.
All registration services will now be accessible at the regional office of PMDC Lahore. Complete registration, license renewal, Good Standing Certificate issuance, duplicate provision, and updates or modifications to practitioner data are among the services that will be provided, with the exception of teaching and practical experience-related issues.
In addition, the Lahore office will help with online application submission and processing and answer questions pertaining to the aforementioned categories. A copy of the certificate may also be given to medical and dental professionals for their convenience, but the original certificates will be sent to practitioners using TCS courier service.
"This is a step towards accelerating the licensing process through PM&DC's regional offices," said Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, president of PMDC, underscoring the importance of the initiative. Through the implementation of this program, we are enabling our physicians to start their careers without needless delays.
