Hungary Announces BS, MS and PhD Scholarships for Pakistani Students 2023-24.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program 2024–2025 for citizens of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The Hungarian government established the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program to assist foreign students in obtaining bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at the top universities in Hungary.
All the information regarding the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program 2024–2025 is as follows:
Scholarship Categories
Below are the four scholarship categories:
- Bachelor’s degree (after 12 years of education).
- One-tier master’s degree (same as above).
- Master’s degree (after 16 years of education).
- PhD degree (after 17–18 years of education).
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate needs to submit:
- During registration, applicants must submit transcripts, degrees, and certifications attested by pertinent authorities, such as HEC and IBCC.
- USAT or HAT test results
- Provide a medical certificate attesting to the fact that the applicant is clear of AIDS, all forms of hepatitis, and other communicable illnesses.
- Meet the requirements of the Hungarian university.
- Candidates who are awaiting results and those who are enrolled in the last year of their current degrees or study programs are also eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor's
Must have HSSC/intermediate, bachelor's, or one-tier master's degree equivalents.
Eligibility Criteria for a Master's
16 years of education
Eligibility Criteria for a PhD Applicant
18 years of education
How to apply
Candidates must use the HEC and Stipendium Hungaricum portals to submit their applications. Applicants should read the application rules before submitting their applications.
Required Documents
When submitting an application for the program, applicants must attach the following documents:
- Online application form
- A letter of motivation
- Evidence of language proficiency includes diplomas from schools, transcripts, and translations of these documents into Hungarian or the language of the degree chosen.
- Medical certification
- Copy of passport
- Application acceptance statement for the online Tempus Public Hungary system.
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive the monthly stipend listed below in addition to a tuition-free education:
For a PhD
- HUF 140,000 per month for the first four semesters of the program.
- A monthly stipend of HUF 180,000 is provided for the second four semesters of education.
About Every Other Program
- Stipend of HUF 43,700 per month while they finish their degree.
Additionally, students in PhD and other studies will receive:
- For the length of the scholarship, a free dorm spot or a monthly housing contribution of HUF 40,000
- Health coverage of up to HUF 65,000 annually.
Keep in mind that these benefits solely help with the scholarship recipients' living expenses. It implies that the students will need to contribute additional funds to pay all living expenditures in Hungary, as it does not entirely cover all living costs.
