Under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad's federal schools and colleges have officially released their winter vacation schedule.

All federal educational institutions, including Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges in both urban and rural areas, will be closed for winter vacation from December 26, 2025, to January 3, 2026, according to a formal announcement from the Directorate.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, classes will resume as usual.

Additionally, the FDE has mandated that administrative, teaching, and non-teaching staff observe Saturday, January 10, 2026, as a working day. On that day, employees will report for duty to do the high-priority tasks that the Directorate has already communicated.

The Director General, FDE, has approved the winter vacation schedule, which has been distributed to all institution heads via Area Education Officers.

Several provinces nationwide have finalized their winter calendars in response to the cold weather. Climate zone-specific schedules have been established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Schools in summer zones will be closed from January 1 to January 15, while schools in winter zones will have a lengthier vacation from December 22, 2025, to February 28, 2026.

All public and private schools and colleges in Sindh will be closed from December 22 to December 31. Classes will resume on January 1, and supplemental board exams will continue as scheduled.

Likewise, the Punjab government also declared that all schools would be closed from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, with classes resuming on January 10.
