The Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee announced on Thursday that all public and private schools across the province will be closed from December 22 to 31 for the winter holidays.

The representative further stated that while supplemental exams administered by the education boards would go according to plan during the holiday season, schools will resume as usual on January 1, 2026.

The winter break timetable for all of the province's public and private schools was already formally announced by the Punjab School Education Department. The declaration followed orders from Rana Sikandar Hayat, the provincial minister of education.

Winter holidays will start on December 22, 2025, and extend through January 10, 2026, according to a written statement from the department. Because of the yearly winter break, all schools were closed during this time.

"Weather patterns and the convenience of students and parents were taken into consideration when finalizing the schedule," Hayat stated. The purpose of the break was to give kids a reprieve from the anticipated severe winter weather.

The statement stated that academic activities in Punjab would start up again on January 12, 2026. In order to facilitate a seamless transition when classes resumed, the department directed all school administrations to guarantee complete adherence to the official holiday schedule.
