The Rotary Peace Fellowship is an internationally recognized, fully funded scholarship program offered by Rotary International for young professionals.

The applicants can be from anywhere around the world who have a keen interest in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and global development for the years 2026–2027.

Each year, Rotary International grants up to 130 awards to outstanding individuals who aspire to have a positive impact on their communities and beyond.

 What is the Rotary Peace Fellowship?

The Rotary Peace Centers Program is the cornerstone of our efforts to develop the next generation of peace and development leaders by providing academic training, field experience, and networking with key professionals in the field around the world.

Since the program began in 2002, over 1,800 fellows from over 140 countries have been trained, and many are now employed by governments, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, peacekeeping operations, and law enforcement.

Types of Fellowships Offered

Rotary offers two distinct fellowship tracks designed to support professionals at different stages of their peacebuilding careers.

1. Master’s Degree Programs

This curriculum, which is offered at prestigious colleges worldwide, lasts 15–24 months. Its main concentration is on scholarly research on development, peace, and dispute settlement. Fellows also do a field study that they develop themselves, which lasts two to three months.

Early- to mid-career professionals with a bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience are the best candidates.

2. Professional Development Certificate Program

This one-year curriculum focuses on blended learning and is designed for seasoned peacebuilding and development workers. It emphasizes useful methods and instruments for promoting harmony in nearby areas.

Within the program, fellows spearhead a social change project. Five years or more of professional experience in the field is required of applicants.

Fellowship Benefits

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is fully funded. It covers full tuition and university fees, accommodation and living expenses, round-trip travel, comprehensive health insurance, and all field study or internship costs. It’s a complete support package to help fellows focus on their mission.

Who Can Apply?

This fellowship is open to all international applicants of all nationalities. Candidates will need to demonstrate leadership and a resolute commitment to development and peace.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and no less than three years of applicable professional experience for the master’s route. Candidates need a minimum of five years of work experience to be eligible for the certificate track.

English language proficiency is required, and candidates cannot be current Rotary members, staff members, or close relatives.

The next application deadline for the 2026–27 Rotary Peace Fellowship is May 15, 2025. We recommend applying early as applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
