This is excellent news for talented individuals and business owners who wish to work overseas. The Qatari government has made the effort to draw in foreign visitors and give them more chances.
The government of Qatar has introduced a new residency visa programme for individuals who possess exceptional talent and drive to become entrepreneurs. They are allowed to live and work in Qatar for a maximum of five years under this programme, with the option to extend or renew it.
Apart from furnishing permanent stability to foreign nationals, the recently introduced permit programme serves as an inducement for investment and innovation within the country.
By offering this opportunity, Qatar seeks to position itself as a premier destination for highly qualified professionals and businesses who can facilitate the growth and development of the nation's economy.
Applications for the programme will be accepted in the coming months. The precise prerequisites to qualify for the Talent and Entrepreneur categories are as follows:
Qualification Standards for Talented People
The following are the prerequisites for eligibility for those in the talent category:
- The Qatari government authority must provide a recommendation highlighting the applicant's background in one of the thirteen approved fields—the arts, entertainment, sports, development, research, or innovation.
- In order to verify their financial stability and acquire an employment offer or contract from a Qatari firm, applicants must demonstrate that they have at least QAR 36,500 (about PKR 28 Lac) to support themselves during the immigration process.
Qualifications For Entrepreneurs
The prerequisites for eligibility in the Entrepreneur category are as follows:
- The application must include a detailed business strategy that outlines its interests in Qatar. One of the country's accredited business incubators, such as the Qatar Science & Technology Park or the Qatar Fintech Hub, must accept this strategy.
- The applicant must pledge to make a minimum investment in the Qatari market of QAR 250,000, or nearly PKR 2 crore.
- By making the immigration procedure easier for eligible individuals and business owners, the main goal of this programme's debut is to encourage sustainable economic growth through foreign investments and entrepreneurship.
