The LUMS Career Services Office (CSO) recently held its Annual Career Fair, a premier event that links LUMS students with top businesses to close the knowledge gap between academics and industry.

More than 1,800 students and alumni from a variety of fields interacted with more than 200 esteemed domestic and foreign businesses at this year's exhibition.

The event exposed students to hiring procedures and career pathways through resume submissions, in-person interviews, and comprehensive career assistance, ensuring they are ready for a changing labor market.

With 95% of its 2024 alumni finding work within nine months, LUMS has maintained its ranking as Pakistan's best institution for graduate employability. This is evidence of the school's excellent industry ties and career-focused programs.

Further demonstrating its dedication to developing top-tier talent is LUMS' remarkable ascent of more than 100 spots in the QS World University Ranking in 2024, which ranked it in the top 36% of universities worldwide.

Retaining this elite talent in Pakistan is becoming more and more important in light of the nation's mounting economic difficulties. Events like the LUMS Career Fair are essential for connecting students with exciting local job openings and motivating them to support Pakistan's innovation and economic development.

Speaking about the importance of this occasion, LUMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Cheema emphasized, "The diversity of the LUMS Annual Career Fair is one of its unique features. There are organizations here from a variety of industries, including business, non-profit, and research.

More than 19,000 of our alumni have achieved great success in a variety of fields, including the media, the corporate world, the civil service, and more. In this sense, the event seeks to expand students' awareness of opportunities and introduce them to a range of sectors.

The LUMS CSO assists students through more than 15 engaging programs that improve job exploration and career readiness in addition to the Annual Career Fair. These initiatives include peer-to-peer support during students' academic careers, company office visits, campus recruitment drives, and alumni mentoring.
