The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Friday prohibited government schoolchildren from going on instructional field trips or having picnics.

All government school officials in the province are prohibited from taking pupils on instructional field trips, tours, or picnics, according to the notice released by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department KP.

It is applicable to elementary, middle, high, and upper secondary schools.

The merging districts and all District Education Officers (DEOs) have received the notification, which directs them to enforce the restriction rigorously.

Concerns about student safety and security prompted the move, though officials have not provided any information about the ban's justification.

In Peshawar, the government had already implemented Section 144, which prohibited the selling of junk food within 150 meters of schools.

The implementation of those rules was a preventative step to safeguard the inhabitants' and students' health and safety. The district administration followed through on its pledge to resolve public issues and keep control of the area.
