The 16th session of the King Edward Medical University Senate was presided over by Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, the chancellor of the university and governor of Punjab. 

As Pro-Chancellor, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique was present at the meeting.

In his welcome speech, Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University, emphasized the great medical services the school has provided over the past 164 years and gave a brief update on both ongoing and finished initiatives.

The proposed and secondary budgets for FY23/24 and FY24/25 were approved by Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan during the meeting. The Senate was also briefed by Prof. Abraham Ashraf regarding the budget and development objectives of the university.

While voicing his opinions, Governor Punjab commended Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz and his group for making noteworthy advancements in the medical field. He pledged to help with the International Medical School's construction on Muridke's Narowal Road.

He expressed gratitude to Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice-Chancellor of KEMCANA, and his team for their efforts in offering 100% free tuition to the students. He also valued King Edward Medical University's assistance both domestically and internationally. 

For his efforts to the university, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry was also gratefully acknowledged. The governor recommended putting aside political disagreements and leading the nation toward progress. He pledged that he and the Punjabi government would keep working to improve the institution. 

Governor Punjab stated that Pakistan is a gift from Allah Ta'ala and that all of us must cooperate for its security and progress. Please consider me an employee of your university, and I am always available to help develop it.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique claims that Punjab's medical institutes are promoting top-notch research. I've been working with the best instructors for almost 14 years to advance the health industry.

Establishing the International Medical School on Muridke Narowal Road will be a huge achievement.

Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry, Governor Capt. (R) Saqib Zafar's principal secretary, Prof. Emeritus and Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Moin, Special Secretary of SHC&ME Dept. Mr. Tariq Mehmood, Finance Representative, Member Higher Education Commission Prof. Farid Ahmad Khan, Member Public Service Commission Ahmed Ali Kumboh, Ms. Zahida Azhar, Deans, Heads of Departments, MSs of Associated Hospitals, and other faculty members were present on this occasion.

A vote of gratitude was held to thank all of the attendees, with Vice Chancellor Prof. Moin leading the vote. Mahmood Ayyaz, a professor, sincerely thanked Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal for supporting the International Medical School initiative.
