HEC Announces 4,500 Fully-Funded Scholarships for Afghan Students

The Government of Pakistan has announced scholarships for 4,500 Afghan students, offering opportunities to study in Computer Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, Medicine, and other fields.

The program's objectives are to improve people-to-people interactions, fortify ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and aid in Afghanistan's rehabilitation by developing its human capital.

The scholarships pay for all living expenses, books, tuition, and hostel costs in Pakistani universities. Opportunities are offered at the PhD, MS/M.Phil, and undergraduate levels.

Qualifications for Eligibility

Before submitting an application for the scholarships, interested candidates are advised to thoroughly review the requirements.

Undergraduate

Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 23, have completed 12 years of education, and, according to the IBCC Pakistan equivalency criteria, have at least 60% in general subjects or 65% in medical and engineering subjects.

MS/M.Phil

MS/M.Phil. programs must be under 35 years old when they apply. It requires at least 16 years of schooling and a bachelor's or master's degree with a CGPA of at least 2.5 out of 4.0.

PhD

Non-faculty applicants must be at least 35 years old, while faculty members must be at least 40. In addition to having 18 years of study, candidates must have earned an MS or M.Phil. degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.

How to Apply

Online applications need to be submitted at http://pakafghan.hec.gov.pk. To help applicants navigate the procedure, a user manual is posted on the website. We will not accept submissions in hard copy.

Due date

The deadline for online applications is September 30, 2025.
