The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday reserved its decision in the cases contesting the decision to organize the Central Superior Service Exam (CSS) again without first releasing the results of the exam that was administered in 2024.

The court was attended by Lt. General (r) Akhtar Nawaz Satti, the chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).

The students were hesitant to retake the exam without first releasing the results from the previous year, according to Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani. "We had forwarded the issue to the FPSC."You turned it down, though," he told Satti.

The judge was informed by the FPSC chairman that the CSS exam announcement for 2025 had been issued before he joined the panel. He clarified that a postponement of the exam would have had an impact on the entire program and caused problems for the students who were scheduled to take it later.

In order for the FPSC to administer the test again, he hoped that the court would deny the petition.

The judge asked him if he could provide one example of when the results of a test from the previous year were made public following the exam the following year.

"This has never been the case," the FPSC commission retorted.

He was asked by Justice Kayani what protection he could offer the students who had been impacted by the incident.

Satti told the judge that the final week of April 2025 will see the release of the results of the 2024 CSS exam. "And if it is feasible, we will attempt to release the results earlier."
