The Balochistan Education Department has decided to bring major revisions to the curriculum for the next academic year.
Under the amended plan, Nazra Quran and Quran translation will be legally included as compulsory courses for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, ensuring Quranic education is taught consistently across all levels.
The department has also stated that new computer education textbooks would be launched for Grades 6 to 8, aimed at boosting students’ digital literacy and preparing them for modern technology requirements.
Additionally, the government has created distinct textbooks for Grades 6 through 12 that emphasize appropriate and constructive use of social media. These books aim to increase awareness among students about online safety, digital responsibility, and ethical behavior in the digital world.
The revised curriculum is anticipated to be introduced in all of the province's schools at the beginning of the next academic year.
Federal Education Sec Adopts Outskirts Non-formal School
Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Nadeem Mahbub announced the adoption of a non-formal basic education school located in the village of Kilinger in the outskirts of Islamabad.
He made this remark during the recent visit to the school along with Director General Basic Education Community Schools (BECS), Hameed Khan Niazi, who updated him about enrollment, academic progress, and crucial challenges.
Nadeem Mahbub also met the pupils and instructor, appreciating the school’s role in offering learning opportunities in a disadvantaged area, said a news release on Monday.
The secretary stressed that both institutional and individual contributions could improve learning results across non-formal schools, which cater to youngsters who are unable to join official schools but are willing to educate themselves.
These schools play an important role but often lack resources such as infrastructure, educational materials, and teacher assistance. The new NFE Support Packages from the Ministry are designed to bridge these gaps in an open way.
