Job Description:

NKU Technologies is looking for a Networking Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in networking while working alongside experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Participate in network monitoring and performance optimization activities to ensure smooth and efficient network operations.
• Help troubleshoot network issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
• Support the documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure network security measures are effectively implemented and maintained.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of virtual private networks (VPNs) and remote access solutions.
• Participate in network capacity planning and contribute to scalability improvements.
• Learn about network protocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and routing to enhance networking knowledge.
• Gain exposure to network design principles and contribute ideas to enhance network architecture.
• Participate in the evaluation and testing of new networking technologies and tools.

Education Required:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and architectures.
• Familiarity with network equipment and tools (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning about new technologies.
• Proficiency in using network diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
• Any relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus but not required.
