Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Database Consultant for part-time work to assist with the design, implementation, and management of databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database technologies, optimization, and security, contributing to the organization's data management strategies and performance improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage both relational and non-relational databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
• Develop, test, and deploy database schemas, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and enhance efficiency.
• Maintain data integrity and enforce security protocols to protect data.
• Execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
• Work with development teams to design data models and ensure seamless data integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and outages.
• Follow best practices for database design, security, and maintenance.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and processes.
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in database technologies and suggest improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or similar position.
• Strong expertise in database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
• Proficiency in database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) for automating tasks.
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Familiarity with database security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
