Job Description:

We are looking to hire a talented and experienced Video Editor to join our busy production team. As a lead video editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect our vision.

Responsibilities:

• Splice raw film footage together from various sources and shoots, combining it with other scenes to create a cohesive story.
• Evaluate edited footage to ensure it matches the story from the script and meets the narrative agenda of the producer and director.
• Edit footage into timelines and cut time out of certain shots to create a more impactful story for the audience.
• Combine visual footage with audio sound effects, dialogue, ambient sound, and a musical soundtrack to enhance the story's drama.
• Use computer editing software programs (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro X) and other tools to piece together film components.
• Ensure all editing cuts, splices, changes, and additions appear seamless and natural, helping the story flow effectively in the finished product.
• Create sound effects by recording specific audio clips or selecting audio effects from a database of sounds to include in the final film.
• Discuss project timeline, narrative structure, story goals, and more with the director and producers during the editing process.
• Possess basic knowledge of motion graphics and animation.

Requirements:

• Intermediate level experience in video editing.
• Proven experience working with video editing software.
• Submission of a video editing reel showcasing your best work.
• Solid attention to detail.
