Job Description:

The Information Technology Division (ICT) is responsible for providing information technology solutions and services to support the operations of IFAD and ensure effective use of Information and Communications Technology tools and services in the fight against rural poverty.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze functional requirements from end-users and business analysts for new features or enhancements to production systems.
• Design and implement new Ruby on Rails web applications.
• Provide expertise and support on bug fixing and minor change requests for live web applications developed in-house.
• Continuously improve Ruby on Rails applications through iterative updates.
• Provide technical knowledge in engineering, releasing, and maintaining web-based enterprise applications.
• Update the IT Knowledge Base to ensure application documentation is current and accessible.
• Perform any other support duties as required.

Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of six years of professional work experience in enterprise development, with at least two years using the Ruby on Rails Development Framework and Behavior/Test Driven Development methodology.
• Experience in building APIs for Ruby on Rails applications.
• Experience managing support tickets and ensuring efficient turnaround of issues.
• Participation in open-source projects is desirable.
