3. Chief Technical Advisor, Islamabad

The purpose of this vacancy announcement is to hire a Chief Technical Advisor for the inception/assessment phase of a new project to promote inclusive prosperity and eradicate urban poverty in five cities (Haripur, Kohat, Peshawar, Islamabad, Karachi, and Quetta), with a focus on Afghan refugee communities and settlements living alongside host communities.

With a strong "Leaving No One Behind" focus, the initiative will assist both refugees and host communities in conjunction with essential stakeholders at all levels, both local and global.

4. Regional Advisor Polio

The Global Polio Eradication Program is at the vanguard of UNICEF's equitable agenda, envisioning a world in which no child, regardless of location, is vulnerable to the paralyzing consequences of the polio virus.

Despite significant progress under the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), wild poliovirus (WPV) transmission in Afghanistan and Pakistan is growing. 

While significant progress was made between 2019 and 2022, the trend of polio transmission in both Pakistan and Afghanistan has recently reversed, jeopardizing the GPEI objective of proclaiming the world free of wild poliovirus by 2027.
