The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Lahore has been extended for five years instead of four.

A new modular integrated curriculum for BDS will be introduced beginning in the 2024–2025 session, as reported by the news channel.

The 48th meeting of the UHS Board of Studies in Dentistry took place on Friday, and the channel stated that this decision was authorised.

The Rs2,428 million budget for the 2024–25 fiscal year was approved by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Board of Governors on June 26. 
The meeting was presided over by Justice (retired) Sheikh Ahmad Farooq. 

Research and scholarships have received up to Rs82 million in funding; the annual development plan has been given Rs241.9 million; and employee pay totals Rs888.4 million. Additionally, an ad hoc relief allowance of up to a 25% increase in employee compensation has been allowed.

Up to Rs. 10 million has been set aside to support the families of workers who have died while on the job, Rs. 65 million for the purchase of lab equipment, Rs. 50 million for the construction of a mosque, student centre, and other infrastructure on the university's Jinnah campus, and Rs. 250 million for the administration of exams. 

Every year, UHS conducts more than 750 exams.
