The government of Sindh has declared March 22 to be a holiday for all educational institutions throughout the province in observance of Youm-e-Ali.

In observance of the day, all public and private schools will be closed on March 22, according to the School Education Department.

On the 21st of Ramadan, the nation observes Youm-e-Ali, the martyrdom day of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the fourth holy caliph of Islam, with a great deal of veneration and devotion.

On the 19th of Ramadan in 40 AH (661 CE), Hazrat Ali was attacked by Ibn Muljim, a Kharijite rebel, when he was traveling to the Iraqi city of Kufa to do the Fajr prayer. He was fatally wounded. The 21st of Ramadan was the day he accepted martyrdom.

Efforts to Modernize Education in Sindh

Syed Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, has said that all of the province's schools will be digitalized as part of a significant effort to modernize education.

The objectives of this program are to increase efficiency, improve transparency, and guarantee better attendance tracking for teachers and students.

The use of facial recognition technology to digitally track attendance was highlighted by CM Murad Ali Shah during a recent discussion on school education.

This action will enhance general school administration and reduce absenteeism.

Financial Autonomy for Schools

Syed Sardar Shah, the minister of education for Sindh, announced that the school administration will have complete control over its financial and operational affairs.

The government would directly fund school headmasters in order to facilitate this, allowing them to promptly address local needs and upgrade facilities.

However, since every school will have its own budget, administrators will be able to make financial decisions on their own, which will improve resource management.
