Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed his government's commitment to youth empowerment and urged that education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and partnership building be given top priority in order to prepare young people for the future.
During the first session of the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed the significance of putting young people at the forefront of decision-making and governance. According to him, we may enable the next generation to steer a peaceful, forward-thinking, and successful future by emphasizing education, skill development, and entrepreneurship while cultivating partnerships.
PM Shehbaz welcomed representatives from 12 nations and emphasized Pakistan's close relationship with the Commonwealth, highlighting its value as a forum for cooperation and reaching consensus. Federal officials, diplomats, professors, students, and 113 new National Youth Council members attended the conference.
Given that more than 60% of Commonwealth residents are under 30, he emphasized the importance of empowering young people with contemporary education and technology. With 70% of the population under 30, Pakistan has a youth bulge, which he saw as both a difficulty and a huge potential.
PM Shehbaz highlighted the government's commitment to young development by citing programs like the Youth Program, which has helped millions of people nationwide. Thinking back on his time as Punjab chief minister, he listed accomplishments including the creation of Daanish Schools in disadvantaged communities, the distribution of 600,000 computers to exceptional students, and the Punjab Education Endowment Fund for scholarships.
These laptops were crucial in providing options for earning money and distant study during the COVID-19 pandemic. High achievers from low-income families in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan are the target of a recently introduced laptop giveaway program.
