He unveiled the key components of the National Youth Employment Policy (NYEP) at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here on Monday. He presented a comprehensive package of measures, including the creation of employment exchanges in every district, the opening of green jobs to engage young people in productive ways, and overseas employment opportunities for up to 1.8 million Pakistani youth.
"We are preparing our youth to fully benefit from the opportunities that have opened up internationally," he said.
According to Rana Mashhood, Pakistan has achieved international recognition despite the massive hurdles provided by recent floods, opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the areas of education, skills, and employment.
To ensure continuity and stronger impact, he emphasized that the strategy, which was first implemented during the PDM government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's leadership, has now been further strengthened.
He emphasized the policy's reach, stating that it was created for all areas of young people, whether they were enrolled in schools, colleges, and universities or were not yet enrolled in school.
"All young Pakistanis should have the opportunity to lead a respectable life," he stated, adding that women would play a crucial role in job programs till 2029.
He explained that every two months, a special committee on IT and technical education, led by the prime minister, convenes to discuss and extend efforts to lower unemployment.
He claimed that the approach will give young people the necessary language and professional skills in addition to offering employment chances abroad.
Ten new companies will be registered, according to Rana Mashhood, in an effort to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. He went on to say that programs like green jobs would also provide opportunity for positive development and rehabilitation to young people engaged in harmful behaviors.
