To make the process of verifying academic credentials easier, the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has implemented a new QR code method.

Every certificate, result card, and roll number slip that BISE Lahore issues will have a distinct QR code as part of this project. It is simpler for companies and educational institutions to verify the legitimacy of documents when these codes are scanned for immediate online verification.

The method promises a quicker and more trustworthy verification process in an effort to tackle the rising problem of phony degrees.

Separately, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) is in disarray due to a dispute regarding fabricated results from the 2024 intermediate test. The episode has caused a great deal of dissatisfaction, particularly among pre-medical and pre-engineering students who reported unexpectedly low grades.

Protests have been sparked by numerous students' demands for a thorough investigation of their results.

The chairman of BIEK was dismissed in response to the controversy. Sharaf Ali Shah, who is currently in charge of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), has been appointed as the acting chairman of BIEK in order to manage the crisis and restore confidence in the testing system.

In order to resolve the students' concerns about the findings, Sharaf Ali Shah later established an inquiry committee.

To address the concerns of the students, an inquiry committee was established during a meeting with the secretary of the Universities and Boards Department.

The committee wants to maintain transparency and analyze the results. The allegations will be investigated and resolved by the committee in a month.
