Japan awards grant for education project in Pakistan

Akamatsu Shuichi, the Japanese ambassador to Pakistan, emphasized the value of education in promoting a nation's growth and prosperity on Thursday.
During a signing ceremony for a grant agreement at the Japanese Embassy, the ambassador stated, "With its own experience of attaining its economic growth by emphasizing education, education plays a central role in Japan's Official Development Assistance, an arm of the foreign affairs ministry."
The $44,025 (about Rs 12.2 million) funding was given to a local non-governmental organization for a development project in Tarnol, which is outside of Islamabad.
Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Program is the source of the funds.
The funding will be used by the beneficiary NGO, which has 15 years of experience in the fields of education, health, and infrastructure, to construct and equip a school in Ramzania village, increasing the school's ability to offer more local kids a better learning environment.
Preschool through fifth grade will be served by the new school, which will welcome both boys and girls and improve the learning environment.
