Islamabad-based universities to open campuses in Karachi

In Karachi, Comsats University, the National University of Technology (NUTECH), and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) plan to open campuses.
According to a news statement, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, has given his approval to the proposal.
Comsats University will have a temporary campus on Hub Road as part of the proposal; a PC-1 of Rs4.6 billion has already been submitted for the construction of a dedicated campus. The statement had no further information about the founding of the campuses of NUST and NUTECH.
The National University of Technology (NUTECH), the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), and Comsats University intend to establish campuses in Karachi.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, has approved the plan, according to a news release.
As part of the plan, Comsats University would have a temporary campus on Hub Road; a PC-1 for Rs4.6 billion has already been submitted to build a dedicated site. The message contained no additional details regarding the establishment of the NUST and NUTECH campuses.
At present, Comsats University has six campuses throughout the nation, including Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, Lahore, Sahiwal, and Vehari, in addition to its main campus in Islamabad. The opening of a Comsats campus in Karachi is generally regarded as a good thing.
The Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) and the National College of Arts (NCA) were set to open campuses in Karachi earlier in 2024, according to Dr. Siddiqui. The PIFD's Karachi chapter was officially opened by him in November of last year.
