The Government College University (GCU) in Lahore has extended its intermediate program by 1,200 seats on the basis of open merit.

New admissions are now open and will be provided in the morning shift on the New Campus in Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) and the second shift on the Main Campus, according to the University's Director of Intermediate Studies.

At Main Campus, admissions will be available for Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Computer Science, General Science, Commerce, and Humanities during the second shift, which runs from 2 to 6 p.m.

Admission to pre-engineering, pre-medical, and computer science programs will be available on the New Campus morning shift.

"GCU still maintains a separate directorate for Intermediate Studies even after being elevated to a university," said Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry.

He stated, "We want to create a nurturing environment for high-caliber students from all over Pakistan, including remote regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh."

The KSK Campus has also opened to Intermediate students, Dr. Chaudhry continued, including amenities like specially designed classrooms, dorm quarters, and a shuttle service for easy access.

GCU's larger plan to draw bright minds from all provinces—particularly underprivileged regions like Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, KP, and Sindh—includes this growth.

The KSK Campus, which is now accessible to intermediate students, offers a comprehensive academic atmosphere with specially designed classrooms, residence halls, and a shuttle service.
