The Federal Public Service Commission announced the timetable for the Central Superior Services (CSS) 2026 MPT screening test examination.

MPT is a multiple-choice question test that acts as a screening test for the CSS examination. The CSS screening of MPT applications will open from August 11 to August 25, 2025. The FPSC has said that an advertisement will be issued on August 10, 2025, about the said test.

Candidates who meet the requirements for the MPT can apply to take the written CSS exam, which will be open from December 15 to December 30, 2025.

The FPSC has set February 4, 2026, as the official date for the written CSS exam.

The CSS test is a crucial entry point to Pakistan's top-tier federal services, which include jobs in customs, administration, foreign policy, and other public sectors.

It has historically drawn recent college graduates and young professionals due to its stringent eligibility requirements regarding age and attempt count.

The National Assembly previously passed a resolution raising the upper age restriction for applicants to the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam from 30 to 35 years old. The new rule is expected to go into effect in 2026, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.

The resolution permits candidates to take the CSS exam five times in addition to raising the age limit. Lawmakers asked the government to adopt these adjustments immediately so that potential applicants would have enough time to get ready for the new requirements.

The new regulations seek to increase access and give more flexibility to candidates who might require more time to prepare or who join the workforce later by increasing the age cap and permitting a second attempt.
