In 2016, Clooney and her actor husband, George Clooney, established the CFJ. It operates in more than 40 nations with the goal of giving victims of human rights abuses free legal assistance.
Regarding the scholarship, Clooney stated:
It is a privilege to collaborate with the University of Law in order to strengthen the legal and advocacy skills of upcoming generations. I am excited that more people will have access to legal education in human rights thanks to this scholarship, and I can't wait to witness the amazing work that the upcoming winners will produce.
