The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa board exam postponement has sparked worries from the Private Education Network (PEN), which cautions that students' chances of getting into federal and other provincial universities may be hampered by the postponing of intermediate exams.

Acting provincial president Haroon Niazi and general secretary Tahir Amin of PEN emphasized in a joint statement released here on Thursday that delaying exams during Ramadan would have major repercussions, especially for university applications.

Since the majority of universities rely on board test results for admissions, they pointed out that any delay in results announcements could result in students missing out on the application process.

The PEN representatives also noted that a lot of scholarships have deadlines, and delaying them could prevent students from receiving important financial aid.

Additionally, they pointed out that for the next three years, Ramadan will fall in March, making it impractical to postpone exams for this reason.

Additionally, they cautioned that pupils' academic performance may suffer if they experience more emotional stress due to exam uncertainties.

They warned that delayed findings could potentially be a problem for students hoping to study abroad.

"Do the children of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not have the right to study in universities across the country?" asked PEN, expressing displeasure.

They advised education officials to make well-informed decisions based on the realities on the ground and raised the possibility that the Chief Minister had been misinformed on the matter.

PEN strongly advised that board exams be held in March as planned in order to avoid academic interruptions and to safeguard students' prospects.
