Pakistan, UAE discuss collaboration in education and workforce training

Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, met with Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Abdulmanan Al Awar, the UAE's minister of higher education and scientific research as well as the country's minister of human resources and emiratization, on Saturday in Islamabad.
In the areas of human resource development and higher education, the two leaders talked about measures to increase their collaboration.
They discussed how to strengthen relationships in workforce training and education while also reviewing the current partnership.
Pakistan is committed to strengthening institutional ties and promoting collaborative efforts in skill development and workforce readiness, Ambassador Tirmizi underlined.
Additionally, he emphasized the contribution of the Pakistani population to the growth of the United Arab Emirates and expressed gratitude to the country for its ongoing assistance to refugees.
The UAE cherishes its connection with Pakistan and is eager to expand its collaboration in areas that will benefit both nations, according to Dr. Al Awar. He praised the continuous exchange of information between the relevant UAE and Pakistani departments.
Over 46,000 teachers are surplus in Punjab: Minister
Punjab province has more than 46,000 extra instructors, according to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
He instructed the appropriate officials to begin implementing the rationalization policy.
According to the provincial minister of education, there are more than 46,000 instructors assigned to 27,000 schools in Punjab.
27,000 extra instructors would be assigned to 33,000 schools around the province, he said.
In the province's 13,000 elementary schools, 20,948 more teachers are carrying out their tasks, according to Rana Sikandar Hayat.
According to the student-teacher ratio, 23648 teachers are needed for 13846 Punjabi primary schools, according to the provincial education minister.
There are 12533 more instructors working in Punjab's 5930 elementary schools, according to Rana Sikandar Hayat.
He claimed that 15884 elementary schools in the province need 18017 teachers.
Because of the excess teachers, the provincial government is losing billions of rupees, according to Rana Sikandar Hayat.
This loss can be avoided by putting the rationalization policy into practice.
According to the Provincial Education Minister, the necessary tasks for putting the Rationalization Policy into practice will be finished by July 15, 2025.
He stated that the deadline for applications is July 20, 2025. The rationalization policy's initial phase will be finished after July 23, 2025.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said that by implementing a rationalization approach, the provincial government will save billions of rupees.
