The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has chosen to hire master's degree holders as College Teacher Interns (CTIs) instead of regular professors, a report that was made public on Wednesday revealed.

The HEC is trying to solve short-term staffing demands without committing to long-term employment contracts; therefore, this action is perceived as a temporary option to fill teaching vacancies in institutions around the country.

An outline of this strategy has already been sent in for approval; the proposal specifies that CTIs will be appointed for a period of eight months.

Importance of hiring Interns

With this program, universities will have the staff needed to uphold academic standards, and new graduates and those with advanced degrees will have the chance to get real-world teaching experience.

The necessity for flexibility in staff management and financial concerns seem to be the driving forces for the choice to hire CTIs instead of normal lecturers.

Resource Friendly

The HEC can more effectively deploy resources while still meeting the need for qualified teachers by hiring interns for brief periods of time.

New Interns Stipend

The monthly stipend that these college teacher interns would earn is Rs50,000, which is thought to be a fair amount considering the transient nature of the positions.

The purpose of the stipend is to draw in competent and driven people who are keen to advance their own careers while making a positive impact on the educational field.

The hiring process for these roles is anticipated to start next month, and in the upcoming weeks, the HEC is expected to provide more information.

Prospective candidates are interested in the program because they see it as a great way to get into the academic world.
