Key staff members and the leadership of Tally Marks Consulting (TMC) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) attended a contract signing event hosted by the Higher Education Development Programme in Pakistan (HEDP) of the HEC.

According to a press release, the signing event marks an important turning point for Pakistan's higher education system.

Modern Student Lifecycle Systems (SLC) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) will enable Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to fully digitize their accounting, operations, administrative, and end-to-end student lifecycle activities, from admission to degree fulfillment.

The world's top universities have already embraced these systems, and HEC's investment in implementing the same at Pakistani HEIs is demonstrated by this action. The platforms improve productivity and transparency while providing timely access to important data on higher education for decision-making.

Along with other top representatives from HEC, HEDP, TMC, and SAP, the signing event was attended by Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Executive Director HEC Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, MD TMC Abdul Haseeb, and Partner Director SAP Amir Shah.

"We are now one team, and it's a great collaboration that will increase the quality of education for all in Pakistan," Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed remarked in his speech at the event. This signing ceremony marks the beginning of Pakistan's transition to a fully digital education system, with over 260 HEIs on the waiting list. However, since this is a seed and will begin the process to inspire other HEIs in Pakistan, cooperation and dedication from HEIs remain crucial.

Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum reaffirmed that the private sector has a social duty to serve the country and should not view education as a high-profit venture.

According to MD TMC, SAP leadership is dedicated to providing the newest tools and technologies to young Pakistanis. In Pakistan, they have already provided free training to over 2000 professionals and students as part of their CSR initiatives.

The collaboration between HEC and SAP is a historic accomplishment since it lays the groundwork for a nationwide infrastructure of paperless higher education.

HEC's strategic IT initiatives also include the creation of durable, upscale data centers, high-performance computing, a local, secure cloud infrastructure for Pakistani higher education, MOOCs, a platform for global lifelong learning, and specialized learning management systems that are currently under development at various stages of completion.

HEC is an independent organization that was created by the constitution to finance, supervise, control, and accredit Pakistan's activities in higher education. HEC's flagship project, HEDP, assists the organization in a number of critical areas, including research, governance, capacity building, policy-making, and education-related IT activities.
