The Board of Intermediate Education Lahore has issued the new roll number slips embedded with the latest technology, QR codes, to prevent cheating in exams.

Additionally, QR tags have been added to the intermediate roll number sheets to deter cheating.

Intermediate Part 2 exams will begin on April 29, and 183,000 applicants will take the test this year, according to Controller of Examination Zahid Mian.

According to the Controller of Examinations, roll number slips are available for private candidates to obtain from the Lahore Board website.

Regular candidates will receive roll number slips from their institutions, according to Zahid Mian.

He said that QR codes were useful in keeping phony applicants out of testing locations.

On the other hand, in a Tuesday meeting presided over by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh cabinet authorized the granting of grace marks to first-year students who did not pass their yearly exams at the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).

Data from the University & Board (U&D) Department revealed a sharp decline in the 2024 pass rate of BIEK's initial year results.

The Sindh Assembly responded by establishing a Special Committee to look into the issue on January 13, 2025, under the direction of Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah. A subcommittee led by NED University Vice Chancellor Dr. Sarosh H. Lodi carried out a thorough investigation.

The subcommittee suggested giving chemistry students 20% of the possible points and math students 15%. The chief minister took action by approving the grace marks and directing changes to the examination board's procedures to avoid similar problems in the future.

The Chief Minister expressed displeasure with the way educational boards were operating and instructed the Chief Secretary to assemble a high-level committee of respectable officers to look into anomalies in all of Sindh's boards and provide a report.
