Jackson Oswalt, a 12-year-old boy from Memphis, USA, has accomplished an amazing feat. He built a nuclear fusion reactor in his bedroom, after which the FBI visited his home.

Jackson shared his story on the social media platform X, where he said, “I succeeded in building a functional nuclear fusion reactor just a few days before I turned 12.”

He says that the idea came to him after watching a TED Talk by famous scientist Taylor Wilson, in which Wilson said that he achieved nuclear fusion in 2008 at the age of 14.

After Jackson Oswalt understood the basic principles of nuclear fusion, he first built a "Demo Fusor," an early model.

He sought financial support from his parents and gradually began building a complete fusion reactor, using eBay to purchase the necessary parts and collecting various scientific instruments.

He redesigned the vacuum chamber, obtained a turbomolecular pump, and obtained deuterium as fuel.

"After some experiences, I successfully achieved my goal of fusion a few days before my 13th birthday," Jackson says.

Jackson's achievement gained worldwide fame and was included in the Guinness World Records. He has become the youngest person in the world to achieve nuclear fusion.

His research has been confirmed by Fusor.net and renowned nuclear physics expert Richard Hull. FBI agents then visited Jackson's home to check the radiation levels from his experiments.

It should be noted that nuclear fusion is a scientific process that can be used for clean energy in the future. It is an extraordinary feat that a 12-year-old child can perform such complex scientific experiments that scientists usually do in laboratories.
