Summer vacation has been officially announced for all educational institutions in the province by the Sindh Education Department.

All public and private schools and universities will be closed from June 1 to July 31, according to the official announcement.

This ruling is applicable to all government-run and privately run establishments in Sindh.

During the height of the summer, the order seeks to protect the health and safety of both employees and pupils.

Punjab's education minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has said that the province's summer break will start on May 28.

In addition, the federal government declared May 28 to be a public holiday in honor of the historic Youm-e-Takbeer day.

On the other hand, Wajiha Qamar, the state minister of education, spoke at the Education World Forum 2025 conference of education ministers in London on Wednesday. She shared her inspiring journey from a village to a position of leadership.

In terms of females' education, fundamental learning, statistics, and skills, she also emphasized Pakistan's gains and problems. Leading a prominent group of Pakistani officials and education experts to the moot, the minister urged action to change the country's educational system.

She praised local and international partners for their outstanding work in transforming education in Pakistan, highlighting the remarkable initiatives of Global Education and What Works Hub.

The government's commitment to providing universal, high-quality, and equitable education for all people in line with SDG 4 and national priorities was reiterated by Wajiha Qamar.

In addition, she addressed important issues like equality, system resilience, teacher quality, and learning poverty, clearly defining priority areas for change.

In particular, Wajiha Qamar urged provinces to collaborate with the What Works Hub to co-design and evaluate effective interventions for gender equity and fundamental learning.

She suggested a federal-provincial innovation platform, supported by long-term collaborations and the development of local ability, to grow what works.
