The educational boards of Punjab are implementing a new system that allows parents to view their children's test results directly.

Using their own CNIC numbers, parents will be able to view results beginning with the 2026 school year. Students can no longer keep their grades a secret from their families thanks to this change.

Results for the ninth and tenth grades will be covered in the first section. Results at the intermediate level will eventually be included in the policy's scope.

Over a million kids take matric and intermediate exams annually through the Lahore Board alone, thus many families would be impacted by the shift.

The new feature, according to officials, attempts to keep parents more involved in their children's education and promote openness.

A low passing percentage in Punjab's most recent matric results raised questions about student performance and the need for more academic support in schools, prompting the decision.

Punjab to Publish Textbooks in Urdu

The Punjab Textbook Board has declared that starting with the upcoming school year, three books for grades 6, 7, and 8 that were previously published under the Single National Curriculum (SNC) will be reproduced in Urdu.

In place of English, the board has announced that the History, Geography, and Islamiat Workbook books will now be offered in Urdu.

According to officials, students have long called for Urdu editions. Due to their inadequate proficiency in the language, they observed that many students found it difficult to study these courses in English. Consequently, they had to buy Urdu translation manuals from the marketplace.

Students' exam scores were also lower because the books were written in English. The board thinks this obstacle would be eliminated and learning results will be enhanced by releasing them in Urdu.

The decision attempts to ensure equitable performance on exams and make texts easier for pupils to understand.
