Pakistani PhD student wins International Poster Award in China.

A Pakistani PhD student won the international poster award in China. This hybrid international competition was held in China under the American Chemical Society. Daim Asif Raja, a PhD student at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, recently spoke at the American Chemical Society International Science Chapter in Agricultural Asia-Pacific Regional Higher Education held at Pure University in Yinan Province, China. I got third place in the Student Academic Poster Computation (Poster Competition).

A spokesperson for the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the at the University of Karachi said on Wednesday that student Daim Asif is doing a PhD under the supervision of Dr. Imran Malik at the HEJ Research Institute.

In this hybrid poster competition, Daim Asif secured the third position by participating online. In this competition, Dr. Imran Malik also gave a lecture on the topic of a fast and effective method of obtaining natural compounds from nepods.

According to the spokesperson, this talented student of the HEJ Research Institute has secured the third position among the participants of more than 3,000 present and online competitions. Among the countries participating in the competition, including Pakistan, researchers from China, Malaysia, India, Iraq, Australia, France, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States also participated. The Head of ICCBS, University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen, Daim Asif, and his supervisor, Dr. Imran Malik, have been congratulated for their success.

It should be noted that earlier in 2022 as well, Daim Asif Raja won the travel grant of the American Chemical Society and the third position in the poster competition of a research conference organized under the American Chemical Society in Doha, Qatar. Sheikh Al Jamia Karachi Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, an Iraqiand former Federal Minister for Science and Technology and Professor Emeritus Dr. Atta Rahman have also congratulated this talented student on his passing.
