Modern STEM Training for Punjab Teachers Is Essential: Rana Sikandar

The UK-Pakistan Science and Innovation Global Network (UPSIGN) and the University of Education, Lahore, announced the start of a STEM Education Training Workshop on Tuesday.

Rana Sikandar Hayat, the provincial minister of higher education, was the main guest on this particular occasion.

Additionally, Rana Sikandar, speaking on behalf of the Punjab government, announced a Rs one million cash award for the winners of the university's annual Sports Gala 2025.

This four-day training session will provide updated instruction to more than 200 professors from 10 universities throughout the province.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Ch., the vice chancellor of UoE. Rana Sikandar, said the Punjab government aims to use the University of Education to provide the most up-to-date training for teachers across the province.

Over the course of the next four months, the government will provide 100,000 computers to students as an introduction to modern education.

Merit-based scholarships have already helped more than 30,000 students, and another 25,000 will be supported.

There will be a significant expansion of educational institutions throughout the province in response to the needs for education.

In his speech, Dr. Aqif Anwar claimed that the institution of education, which serves more than 50,000 students with top-notch instruction, is the province's largest institution by area and other standards.
