The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration has made the decision to gradually outsource its public schools in an effort to raise educational standards and drastically lower costs per student.

Official documents state that the current monthly expenditure per pupil in KP's public schools is Rs3,517.

This cost is anticipated to drop to Rs1,667 per pupil with outsourcing. By taking this action, the government intends to improve the distribution of resources and raise educational quality.

Poor-performing schools and students have previously been identified by the provincial education administration.

Forty percent of the students in the province's 4,147 public schools perform below expectations, and these institutions will be given priority for outsourcing.

Three stages will comprise the implementation of the outsourcing plan. Outsourcing will begin with 500 schools in the first phase, then 1,000 schools in the second, and 2,000 schools in the third.

To guarantee seamless operations, a specific fund of Rs300,000 will be allotted each month to each institution.

Additionally, in order to accommodate the 49 million children who are now not in school in the province, the number of students per school will be expanded from 40 to 180. The government anticipates a considerable decrease in the number of children who are not attending school as a result of this project.
