Special schemes for the welfare of special children have been introduced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

While assessing various unique initiatives for the welfare of exceptional children, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif of Punjab declared, "Special children are our special heroes." "We will undoubtedly accomplish the objective of enhancing special education centers and systems," she continued.

She emphasized, Parents' financial burden will be lessened with the opening of Pakistan's first government autistic school in Lahore. "The goal of rehabilitation for special children is to make them productive and useful members of society," the chief minister stated.

"Pakistan's first government autism school, whose construction is in the final stages, will provide free treatment of children with autism," she continued. The autistic school project will be finished in a record-breaking year, she said.

Ten autistic units have been constructed in Punjab's various special education institutes, according to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The construction of special education facilities, which are necessary for kids with autism, has started. She gave SACM Sania Ashiq the task of overseeing the autistic school project's construction.

"9,206 assistive devices have been provided to the special students," the concerned authorities informed the chief minister. Among these gadgets are 500 white canes, 344 crutches, 300 walkers, 360 wheelchairs, and 7,702 hearing aids.

In order to enhance Punjab's special education system, they also informed the chief minister that 35 schools had been promoted from middle to secondary level and that primary schools had been promoted to middle level.

Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister, was informed. The province has started a project to transform 28 special education institutions into Centers of Excellence. Additionally, a customized curriculum for special education students up to class 5 has been established, which includes a curriculum specifically designed to translate the Quran for children with hearing impairments.

Punjab is preparing specialized skills classes for special education children. In cooperation with the private institutions, a job fair for special education students is also being organized. Twenty-five of the 900 enrolled students have found employment thufar..

According to the chief minister, 14 special education students passed the first round of the Special Education Vocational Matriculation. To improve the quality of special education in the province, a school information system is being built. She emphasized that preparations are underway for the Special Education Mobile App, the Smart Monitoring App, and Citizen Relationship Management.

586 kids from special education centers have been accepted to regular schools, according to Chief Minister Maryam. For special education children, we are hosting the first-ever major sports gala.

"Eight new special school buildings have been completed, and approval has been granted for the construction of nine additional buildings," she continued. In special education centers, a screening tool for slow learners has been implemented.
