Attock launches ‘learn, earn’ IT programme for unemployed youth

The district administration of Attock has effectively introduced a "learn and earn" IT program for the area's youth, which will allow them to become financially independent through graphic design, freelancing, and other relevant courses.
Nosheen Israr, deputy commissioner of finance and planning, made this statement while speaking as the main speaker at a youth seminar held at District Council Hall in Attock.
In addition to a large number of students, the following individuals were present: District Education Officer Secondary Mohammad Altaf, Principal Syed Kazim Shah of the higher secondary school, Principal Fauji Foundation School and College Attock retired Col. Muhammad Arif, and heads of various public and private institutions.
She believed that by learning IT skills, Pakistan's youth might become a global force and represent our nation's bright future.
She claimed that a self-help project that cost more than Rs25 million had upgraded more than 250 IT laboratories in government schools in the Attock district.
She added that 300 IT teachers in the district have completed five days of training in three groups as part of the "Learn and Earn" program.
More than 700 pupils in 32 government schools throughout the district are currently receiving professional IT instruction from these qualified teachers. She also mentioned that the district's IT laboratories are being renovated, which would improve IT education even more in the area.
She further said that training for the Learn and Earn initiative has been provided by organizations such as Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the Pakistan Information Technology Board (PITB), and other pertinent organizations.
In order to empower women, who make up half of the population, economically and lessen their reliance on others, she emphasized the value of skill-based education.
The District Public School of Information Technology will be essential in advancing skill-based learning, she said.
