To raise the standard of learning throughout the province, the Punjab School Education Department (SED) on Friday unveiled a new monitoring system to guarantee teacher attendance in government schools.
Strict adherence to administrators' and teachers' working hours is the system's main goal. This is part of a larger effort to improve academic standards and preserve school discipline.
According to media sources, the SED has mandated that all school employees follow certain duty hours. Department officials will conduct surprise inspections to make sure that staff members are complying.
The August 11 instructions made it clear that instructors and principals were to stay at the school until 2:30 pm. To improve efficiency and guarantee the seamless operation of academic activities, the department has reinforced the rules regarding school timing.
The Chief Executive Officers of every District Education Authority (DEA) in Punjab have received these instructions from the SED, which emphasize how crucial it is to follow the previously published schedule.

Lesson planning, professional development, and participation in recreational and academic activities are now mandated for teachers during extended school hours and alternating weeks. Officers are accountable for guaranteeing complete compliance, and the agency issued a warning that infractions will not be accepted.
The new hours for single-shift schools are as follows: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Friday, 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. as of August 15.
The morning and afternoon shifts at double-shift schools will run at separate times. To accommodate school events, teachers' hours will be somewhat extended.
In other news, the initial round of interviews for the positions of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), District Education Authority (DEA), and Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges) has been concluded by the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED).
During the interview process, some 120 applicants had their management, communication, IT, leadership, and other skills assessed.
