Eligibility Criteria

MS/MPhil Eligibility:

Program	Eligibility
MPhil Educational Leadership and Policy Studies	Those with NQF Level 6 (16 years’ qualification) in the discipline of Education or any discipline with minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 in the semester system or 2nd division in the annual system. Candidates applying with degree in areas other than Education shall be required to complete deficiency courses of minimum 18 credit hours at the University before the commencement of MPhil in Education program. Explanation: Candidates applying with degree in areas other than Education with a 1-year B. Ed degree are required to complete deficiency courses. Candidates applying with degree in areas other than Education with a 1.5-year B. Ed degree are not required to complete deficiency courses. Candidates applying for a degree in areas other than Education but have studied the deficiency courses mentioned in this scheme of studies will get exemption on case-to-case basis by the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. The candidates have to apply for exemption during the first week of the first semester of the program.
MPhil Special Education	MA in Special Education/B Ed (Hons.) in Special Education/BS (Hons.) in Special Education/MEd in Special Education with B.Ed. in Special Education (16 years of education) or equivalent from a recognized university as per Higher Education Commission (HEC) rules.
MPhil Education	Those with NQF Level 6 (16 years’ qualification) in the discipline of Education or any discipline with minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 in the semester system or 2nd division in the annual system. Candidates applying with degree in areas other than Education shall be required to complete deficiency courses of minimum 18 credit hours at the University before the commencement of MPhil in Education program.
MPhil History, Arts and Cultural Heritage	Minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 in the semester system or 2nd division in the annual system in BS/MA degree in History, Pakistan Studies, Archaeology, Political Science, or equivalent in any other relevant subject of Arts & Humanities and social sciences. The GRE/HAT General/Equivalent tests, with a passing score of 50% are required. Other requirement notified by UE or HEC from time to time.
MS Botany	The pre-requisite for this program is 2-year M.Sc. or 4-year BS in Botany from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institution as per UE rules
MS Chemistry	The pre-requisite for this program is 2-years MSc in chemistry or 4-years BS in Chemistry from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institution as per UE rules.
MS Information Technology	Sixteen years of education with CGPA of at least 2.5 (on scale of 4.0) or equivalent in science / engineering discipline preferably with 4 years degree program of BS (SE/CS/IT/EE/CE) or equivalent from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institute. Two years of relevant work experience may be preferred. An entry test will be conducted as part of the admission criteria.
MS Computer Science	Sixteen years of education with CGPA of at least 2.5 (on scale of 4.0) in degree program of BS(SE/CS/IT/CE) or equivalent from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institute. An entry test will be conducted as part of the admission criteria or as per University of Education requirements. The following core courses are recommended to be completed before entering the MS (CS) program. Analysis of Algorithms Assembly Lang. /Computer Architecture Computer Networks Computer Programming Data Structures Database Systems Operating Systems Software Engineering Theory of Automata A student selected for admission having deficiency in the above stated courses may be required to study a maximum of FOUR courses, which must be passed in the first two semesters. Deficiency courses shall be determined by the Graduate Studies Committee, before admitting the student. A student cannot register in MS courses, unless all specified deficiency courses have been passed.
MS Mathematics	The pre-requisite for this program is 2-years MSc or 4-years BS in Mathematics from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institution as per UE Rules.
MS Physics	The pre-requisite for this program is 2 years MSc or 4 years BS in Physics or equivalent from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institution as per UE rules.
MS Zoology	The pre-requisite for this program is 2-year M.Sc. or 4-year BS in Zoology from HEC recognized University or degree awarding institution as per UE rules. Candidate has to qualify the GRE/HAT General/Equivalent test, with a passing score of 50%, organized by University of Education, Lahore. Eligibility criteria as per UE admission rules.

• Following documents will be required for completion of online admission form.

• Print the Fee Challan, deposit the prescribed admission processing fee in any branch of The Bank of Punjab (BOP) and get computer generated deposit receipt (Customer Copy).
• Please note that printed application form / computer generated deposit receipt (Customer copy) need not to be submitted to the university but should be kept for record.
• Only those applicants will be considered for admission who have deposited the prescribed admission processing fee (non-refundable).
• Submit separate online application form for each campus/ program/ shift/ quota.
• Separate admission processing fee(non-refundable) will be charged for each application form.
• The applicants having unusual or non-standard qualifications (e.g. diploma, certificate, etc.) are required to seek equivalence (prior to applying online for admission) from Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Education, Lahore. They will have to submit equivalence form (which may be downloaded from UE Website (i.e. www.ue.edu.pk)) in Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Education, College Road, Township, Lahore and deposit prescribed fee. • The applicants, whose names are displayed in the merit lists, will contact the Admission In charge of the relevant Division/Campus, along-with original educational documents, CNIC/Form-B and Father/Guardian CNIC, two sets of photocopies of all these documents.
• After completion of verification process, the Admission Office of concerned Division/Campus will issue a fee Challan for deposit of Admission dues (Semester fee).
• The applicant will deposit the fee in any Branch of the Bank of Punjab (BOP) within due dates and get the computer generated deposit receipt (Customer Copy); however, he/she needs not to submit the computer generated deposit receipt (Customer Copy) in the Division/Campus concerned but should be kept for record.
• If an applicant does not submit the Admission dues (Semester dues) within due date, the admission offer shall stand cancelled.
• Entry Test for MS/MPhil/ MBA & PhD will be conducted 4 times on different dates before commencement of admissions Fall 2025.
• The validity of the test will only be the upcoming Admissions (i.e. Fall 2025) only.
• Newcomers and repeat test takers can apply to retake the entry test after depositing the entry test fee.
• If any applicant appeared twice/thrice in UE Entry Test and remained successful each time, then only the highest marks may be considered towards calculation of his/her merit.
• Consolidated Merit Lists may be displayed after completion of three-layered UE Entry Tests for MS/MPhil/MBA and PhD programs.
• The applicant has to select test center where he/she is interested to apply for the admission MS/MPhil and PhD program.
• If the CGPA/Percentage is not mentioned on the transcript, the candidate must produce equivalent weightage from the parent university.
• The University will conduct the test equivalent to GRE/HAT General developed at the University, with the passing score of 60%. OR accept a test equivalent to GRE/HAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC, with a passing score of 60%.
• The successful applicants of PhD programs will appear for the interview at concerned UE Division/Campus (where applied for admission) on June 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (Reporting time will be 09:00 a.m. at their concerned UE Division/Campus).
• After interview, 1^st merit list will be displayed on University Website on June 30, 2025.
