Eligibility Criteria

PhD Eligibility:

PhD Pharmaceutics	PharmD/B. Pharm with MS/MPhil/M Pharm degree) with 18 years of education (Level 7) from HEC recognized institutions. For admission in Ph.D. programs, a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or 60% (in the annual system) in the MS/MPhil/ M. Pharm degree from HEC recognized Higher Education Institutions. Holders of MS/MPhil/M. Pharm degree from HEC recognized Higher Education Institutions with a CGPA between 2.5-2.9 may also apply for conditional admission to a Ph.D. program with the requirement to complete additional courses in zero semester as per HEC/JSMU policy. The Entry Test shall be set from the following fields: Pharmacy based subjects test in respective discipline, Biostatics, Research Methodology, and Logical Reasoning. Only successful candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA will be given.

Admission Test for PhD:

• Students will appear in the test conducted by Jinnah Sindh Medical University for admission to subject specific test for PhD programs in respective discipline, with a passing score of 60% for PhD. OR
• Valid GRE/HAT/GAT Subject tests in respective discipline, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC, with a passing score of 60% is also acceptable for PhD.
• Interviews will be conducted for short listed candidates by Admission Committee.
• PhD candidates will also submit the short research proposal in the area of applicant's interest at the time of interview.
• Intra-disciplinary Qualifications for PhD I. Intra-disciplinary admissions (among Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy & Pharmacy Practice) may only be allowed, conditionally if:
• The applicant has passed GRE-Subject/Equivalent Test with minimum 60% marks in the discipline of admission. He or she will take 6-9 CH of deficiency courses of level 7 in Zero Semester offered by respective department.
