| PhD Environmental Science |
- MS / MPhil in Environmental Science (02) years degree program and all allied disciplines (minimum 30 credit hours) with research thesis securing minimum 3.00/4.00 CGPA in semester system or 65% marks in annual system

| PhD Biotechnology |
- MS / MPhil (02) years in (Biotechnology / Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry / Molecular Genetics / Biological Sciences / Medical Sciences / Agricultural Sciences) or equivalent (minimum 30 credit hours) with Research thesis securing minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in Annual System.

- MS/MPhil (18 years) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical/ Medical Science and Nanotechnology or any relevant subject with minimum 3.00/4.00 CGPA in semester system or 65% marks in annual system.

| PhD Environmental Sciences |
- MS/MPhil (18 years) in Environmental Sciences, Plant/Animal Sciences, Environmental Biology and Biotechnology or any relevant subject with minimum 3.00/4.00 CGPA in semester system or 65% marks in annual system.

| PhD Nanoscience and Engineering |
- 18 years of education in basic/applied sciences (Nanoscience and engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology etc.) and MS Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Materials/Mechatronics) or any other relevant discipline) with minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.00 or 70 % in semester system, or 60% Marks in annual system.

| PhD (Islamic Law and Jurisprudence) |
- LLM (Shariah & Law) / LLM / MS in Islamic Commercial Law, LLM / MS in Shariah / LLM / MS in Usul-al-Fiqh / MS Islamic Studies / MA (Hons) Islamic Studies (18 years) or equivalent with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in annual system. (Only those candidates having MS Islamic Studies will be considered who have thesis on any topic of Fiqh / Islamic Law).

| PhD Software Engineering |

| PhD Computer Science |
- MS/MPhil (CS/SE/IT) or equivalent disciplines 2 years degree program (minimum 30 credit hours) with research thesis securing minimum 3.0/4.0 CGPA in semester system or with 65% marks in annual system.
- The equivalent degree holders have to complete pre-requisite determined by department.

| PhD Media and Communication Studies |
- S / M. Phil (Mass Communication) with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in annual system.

| PhD Sociology |
- MS/M.Phil. in Sociology/Rural Sociology/Urban Sociology, Gender Studies Women Studies, Social Work Development Studies, Population Studies/Demography, Criminology, Anthropology, History, Pakistan Studies and other relevant discipline with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in annual system.
- The students of other than sociology/ Rural Sociology/ Urban Sociology will take deficiency courses to meet the requirements of PhD Sociology.
- Applicants should submit a short research proposal (maximum 2000 words) at the time of admission in Ph.D. Sociology

| PhD International Relations |
- MS/M.Phil with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in annual system either of the following subjects International Relations, Political Science, Defense & Strategic Studies, Economics, Law (case-to-case basis), Development Studies (case-to-case basis), Media & Mass Communication / Journalism (case-to-case basis), Pakistan Studies (case-to-case basis), Area Studies (case-to-case basis).

- MS in Social Sciences subjects (History, Pakistan Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Geography & Archaeology) or related subject with minimum CGPA with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in annual system.

| PhD Electrical Engineering |
- MS Electronics (18 years education) in the relevant area of Engineering with minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 70% marks in annual system.

| PhD Biomedical Engineering |
- MS/MPhil or equivalent degrees in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics /Computer / Telecom or any other related field) OR in Basic/Applied Sciences (Electronics, Physics, Computer Science or any other related field) with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 70% marks in annual system.

| PhD Mechanical Engineering |
- MS (18 years education) in the relevant area of Engineering with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or equivalent with minimum 70% marks in annual system.
- PEC registration is mandatory.

| PhD Energy Systems Engineering |
- MS (18 years education) in the relevant area of Engineering or in basic/applied sciences with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system with minimum 65% marks in annual system. Statement of purpose (to ascertain the preparedness & interest of the candidate).
- University Admission Test 70% marks.
