Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has ordered all of the province's schools to put in place thorough road safety measures for student transportation right away.
The Sindh Education Minister emphasized the vital role that private school administrators and parents play in protecting children's safety while they commute to and from school.
Syed Sardar Ali Shah emphasized that school administrators and parents should only use transportation services that adhere to the road safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set forth by the Sindh Department of Transport. The significance of school transporters acquiring or renewing fitness certificates with QR codes from the Sindh Transport Department was emphasized by him.
"For our students' safety, it is imperative that road safety measures be given top priority," he said.
Parents and school officials were advised by Syed Sardar Ali Shah to confirm that school transporters possess current driver's licenses and fitness certifications. Additionally, the minister directed school administrators to send warning letters to transporters who do not follow the necessary procedures.
The Sindh Education Minister also brought up the issue of school van overcrowding. He emphasized that pupils should never be seated in more seats than the car can hold.
In addition, he counseled students to use caution when getting on and off school buses and to adhere to safe roadside selecting procedures.
The minister also emphasized how important it is for parents and educators to teach their children about road safety. He asked them to teach kids about safe pedestrian behavior, such as walking on the right side of the street and only crossing the street after checking both directions.
Syed Sardar Ali Shah urged everyone to work together and praised the Sindh Transport Department for its efforts in putting road safety measures into place. He praised the Transport Department's introduction of road safety measures. "As a civic duty to protect our children, everyone must work together in this endeavor."
