The 'Honhar Scholarship Scheme' expansion to other provinces was approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, approved scholarships for second-, third-, and fourth-year students while chairing a high-level meeting on higher education.
The program of the provincial administration has also been expanded to include 110,000 computers.
In order to be eligible for a laptop, students from other provinces must receive at least 65% of the possible points. For students utilizing the Honhar Scholarship and Laptop Scheme, the chief minister also ordered the creation of a special helpline.
"Education and the youth are our nation's true investment," Maryam Nawaz said during the meeting, highlighting the government's dedication to youth empowerment. It is our duty to ensure that every child has access to contemporary educational resources.
She reiterated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir students would be afforded the same possibilities as their Punjab counterparts.
Financial limitations would not prevent the implementation of any student welfare program; CM Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to educational reforms.
With the statement, "Students from other provinces are also our children," she underlined her dedication to inclusive education. The government should cover the cost of tuition for each student who satisfies the merit requirements and has access to a high-quality education. I want to alter every child's destiny because I think like a mother.
The chief minister emphasized that financial limitations would not impede any program that benefits students and promised that the requirements for receiving Honhaar Scholarships in Punjab would not change for students from other provinces.
In order to further strengthen Punjab's dedication to both technological growth and high-quality education, the meeting also authorized plans to host a Tech Expo and a one-day Vice Chancellors' Conference in the province.
